Workshop F.A.Q

These policies are established to ensure ease of registration, the quality of your experience and the safety of all persons attending classes.

Q: Where can I find information about classes being offered?
A: Just check out the Workshop Tab above and/or Facebook Event Tab for more information.

Q: How do I register for a workshop?
A: Click the workshop tab above and select workshop you are interested in taking and click RSVP.  Fill in the information requested and you will receive a confirmation of registration after checkout is completed.

Q: It asks if I want to Ship or pickup my workshop, what do I click?
A: Great question, click ship, the shipping charge for workshops are automatically $0 So NO upcharge

Q: Can I book a Private party?
A: Yes you can, as long as date is open. Click HERE for interest form

Q: Can I pay the Day of Workshop?
A: No, as a strong practice, only paid spots are counted as RSVP to hold your spot.  There is a strong trend of people saying they are coming and then no showing (in all markets).  Minimum participants are required to hold a class and therefore in order to meet the requirments to hold a class I must expect each participant to secure spot with payment by required cut off date.  *** I understand that certian issues arise and there may be exceptions but this must be agreed upon by Ashley prior to the start of the class. (keep in mind I love you all, but I can't count on maybes to run a business XOXO)

Enrollment

A minimum enrollment is required. In addition, a maximum enrollment exists to ensure the quality of the student’s experience. Only fully paid registrations will be considered as enrolled. By delaying payment, individuals run the risk of being wait-listed or class being canceled due to insufficient enrollment.

Cancellation and Make-Up Policies

Ashley Ellis reserves the right to cancel classes with insufficient enrollment. Classes will be cancelled, and notifications to students will be made two (2) business days prior to the start of the class. Full refunds or credits will be given when Ashley cancels a class due to low enrollment.

Individuals who miss class do so at their own loss.

Refunds and Prorating

It is understandable that a student’s schedule may change or unforeseen circumstances prevent attendance. In the case that an enrolled student cannot attend class, the student or parent of student should notify Ashley Ellis as early as possible.

An enrolled student withdrawing before the start of the class, must notify Ashley Ellis of his/her intent to withdraw ten (10) business days or more before the start date of the class to receive a full class refund. If an adult registration fee included materials, those fees are non-refundable if notice is received within ten (10) business days of class or earlier.

An enrolled student withdrawing from class less than ten (10) business days before its start date must notify Ashley Ellis of his/her intent to withdraw to receive the class fee less material fees (if applicable) and a 25% processing fee.
An enrolled student withdrawing from class less than two (2) business days before its start date must notify Ashley Ellis of his/her intent to withdraw to receive the class fee less material fees (if applicable) and a 75% processing fee.

An enrolled student withdrawing from a class after it begins will receive no refund, unless outstanding circumstances exist (eg. medical condition or family emergency). Classes will not be prorated unless the student has a medical or family emergency.  A $10 prorating fee will apply.

Class Levels

Unless otherwise noted, classes are open to all and recommended for beginner to intermediate levels. Children should be enrolled within their age groups. Teenagers (13+) are welcome to join adult classes. Ashley Ellis is happy to field other questions about the appropriateness of any class.

Materials

Children’s and Family Classes

Materials are included for all in person children’s and family classes unless otherwise noted. Children should still wear their “messy clothes” if possible.

Adult Classes

Students enrolled in adult classes and workshops are responsible for all materials unless otherwise noted. For the experience to be educational, students are expected to bring the specified materials to the first class unless otherwise arranged Ashley or guest instructors. Teaching faculty cannot be expected to teach outside the medium published on the supply lists.

Food and Drink

Students may bring their own Food and drink and are expected to clean up after themselves.

***With the Wisconsin 2015 Act 8 Law changes to this policy will be updated.

Children’s Classes

For classes two and a half hours in length or more, classes may take a snack break. Students may bring their own nut-free snacks. Cups and tap water are available for all students. Adults must be present the entire length.

Publicity Waiver

Adults (18 or older)

Unless Ashley Gordon is notified in writing, enrollment indicates that the student grants permission to Ashley Ellis for use of photographs and/or images of artwork and/or students for educational, publicity, archival, or grant purposes. These images will be in print, media or broadcast formats. Written requests denying this permission must be given on or before the first day of class.

Youth (under 18)

The parent/legal guardian of an enrolled young person must give or refuse consent on the publicity consent form before class starts. If at any time the parent/legal guardian wishes to deny consent for publicity, written request must be submitted to Ashley Ellis 24 hours before the event.
